So Roses, its a lovely place, lots of beach, restaurants, bars and local tradition. Ava’s dad would chearly join in with the locals, playing bowls even singing and dancing in the square on a Saturday night. The locals were friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming.

It was my first time in Spain and I remember the smell of garlic, wafting from the restaurants and being in ore of the little street cafes, I remember how surprised I was, that there were no pavements up to and around the villa. That you actually had to walk on the roads, which were very dusty.
Roses is a good place to stay and travel up to Figueres, by local bus. This is a very lively village, full of shops and cafes, lots of colour and vibrancy.
From the train station, you can walk up the hill to ‘Theatre museu Gala Salvador Dali’. It’s open daily 9.00-20.00 (July to September), 9.30-18.00 (October, march to June), 10.30-18.00 (November to February)
As you approach, you know that your in for a special, if not a little weird treat of the senses. The whole place is surrounded with giant eggs and dolls heads. Inside you can see some of Dalis great paintings and sculptures, Including a giant painting of Abraham Lincoln’s face from a distance. It looks like a bunch of squares close up.

Another huge installation is Mae West. when you walk into the room, you consider the nice red sofa and the two pictures on the wall, but It is not until you climb the stairs and view them through a spy glass they all come together to make her beautiful face.
